Education Need Feedback on a new idea - Upload/Share/Search Text Documents

Hello All,

I have just started a website. What it offers is, to upload/share and search for textual files. These textual files (MS Word, Text, PDF, Excel etc) are converted into HTML files and then displayed in a browser.

Looking for your opinion/feedback in following areas

1 - Design
2 - Features (the idea of sharing document files, all files are SEOptimized)
3 - Usability

Sometimes the uploaded URL link extends past your image area on the main page.
Offer to have your files private.

It looks minimalistic, which is nice.

 

But thats the main idea...to offer others share your files, and you can share their files in return...will this idea work? remember this is the the main thing, like i have also optimized the search to get indexed in search engines...so keeping them private is what so many others are doing...

Also, it doesn't display non-English letters correctly like äöüß

The background repeats on long documents, and is not seamless.
