I've decided to change this.. originally I just asked to post times regardless of car.. but that's not a fair match, so I've decided to post times for a standard Ford Focus.

    Non Underground mode
    Inner City track
    Free Run
    No Traffic
MANUAL shift (auto if for big girls)
    Absolutely STOCK Ford Focus

Post your times! Let's see what you got!

    I'll kick off with 1:02.01

Wow it's been a while. I gave it a go, and that ford focus just feels so slow. I did it in manual and ended up driving the whole thing in 4th gear, aside from the slow acceleration at the start. All i can say is wow! There's like a whole world of difference between the car i'm used to and that stock focus. I did it a couple of times with my normal rx7 first, got 47 something seconds... Not too bad. Then i tried the stock focus.
1:07.25. I really don't think i need any proof of this crappy result.
All I can say is that I'm glad i have better customised cars to play with cause driving these stock cars can get boring real quick.
Just a though: you can't proove you're actually driving a ford focus in the pic though, so anyone could take their souped up skyline or whatever, beat your score, and you'd never know that they weren't driving a stock focus. So this is really a gentlemans game.

Best I could get was 1:07:42, now can we try with skylines?

Ok... yes it's boring, but fair... however.. no one's posting. Either A) It's just too dull with a focus, or B) No one can beat my time. I can't beat it again either. Best I can do is 1:04

Skylines? Ok.. I'll post a time for a Skyline later... but remember... a STOCK Skyline, otherwise this whole thing is pointless. Someone winning cos their car is more tricked out than mine defeats the object: That would be the car winning, not the person.

    Rules are:

    STOCK Nissan Skyline GT-R
    MANUAL shift
    Inner City track
    Free Run mode
    No Traffic.

    Post your times

    :D

This is true... OK.. screen grabs should NOT use bumper view! That's a fair point actually. I just drive with bumper cam.

You can still cheat I suppose... you can upgrade the Skyline and still have it look stock. However... yes.. it's a gentleman's game, so those that cheat will have to live with the fact that they're so lame, they needed to cheat.

    The l337 don't cheat.

I've been toying with ideas to combat cheating, and all I can think of is ripping some video with FRAPS.

FRAPS, when registered can allow you to record AVI videos of your games session. Unregistered allows recording of the last 15 seconds only, so if you're gonna use that make sure you hit F9 in time to get the end of the lap in question. Videos from FRAPS are huge, so I advise encoding to MPEG with either Windows Media Encoder or my favourite TMPGEncoder

FRAPS has a frame rate hit when recording, so users of slower mechines beware.

Incidentally... I just CAN'T drive with the external cam views... so what I did was leave the video running after the lap, and switched back from bumper cam with the video running so you can see it was a stock Skyline.

My time after a quick 6 lap session: 56.74s

That should start the ball rolling.

Remember.. post your ROLLING laps... the start lap will always be pants!

I've also included a video here

    It's 7.5Mb, so 56k unfriendly.

    also a grab below

I drive with that camera mode. Do you think bumpercam gives you some kind of advantage? I can't stand bumper cam cause i can't see how close to the walls i am, and cause of the way it bounces more when you go over bumps.
So far your times have blown mine away when it comes to this particular time trial and these particular stock cars. :waah:

I find the control WAY too sensitive when on the external views, and just end up fishtailing around corners.. maybe it's my joystick, I dunno. It also seems wrong to me... viewing your own car from outside whilst driving. Each to their own I suppose. If it works for you :D There's no right or wrong.. just what makes it easier for you. As for not being able to see how far from the walls you are... well.. when you drive a real car you don't get an outside view either :D

Oh I'm sure my times will get beaten. I'm not exactly putting in the best times yet.. and haven't found the right lines yet either.. as the video will illustrate when I hit the wall on the last corner.. I keep doing that :wallbash:
