i found these really old amps and the little research i did on them they mabe worth a few quid there rated at 60watts thats all thats written on it except for important stuff like AWA ( Amalgated wireless australasia) AWA PA102AZ now i think the whole 60watts is a load of bull because they have 3 dirty great big caps in it and Invertors which tells me ( really good powerfull ) EDIT: yea i forgot to add any help and instructions on how to wire them up would be really helpfull Thanks in advance
I had a quick look aroun and couldn't find anything much... Where did you find the info on them? Have you got any pictures or anything? If they say they are 60W stereo amps then they probably are... they're not valve amps or anything funky like that are they?
How old are they? It's very likeily they could be the very old powerful stuff, back when 60 watts meant 60 watts in worst conditions, like 16ohm loads at high temperatures, not like now, where it's like 60 watts for 0.4 seconds before the amp explodes, at optimal temperature.
there old as like 60s old but yea it can handle 16ohms on the back of the amp it has about 10 links and depending on how u wire the links means how much load u can put and it can go as low as 1ohm so there mad im gonna send em down to my local High end amp repairman and see wat he can tell me ive also rang AWA in australia and im waiting a call back soon
I know they can go to 16 ohm 16ohm is nothing special, my reason for saying that was that at 16 ohms it will put out less power, so for 60 watts at 16 ohms its ~100 watts at 8 ohms. 1 ohm load is very nice, most car stuff can't even go that low. (Average cheapo reciever can do 8, a good one can do 4, 1 is crazy)
