Hi all I have a Acer Aspire 4741G that i am trying to setup as dual boot win7 and xp pro. I have both os's and got xp pro installed and have got most of the drivers off the acer site.

    http://support.acer.com/us/en/product/default.aspx?modelId=2074

But I need video drivers as all the ones I have tryed on there are saying not surported and need vista or win7 even when i select windows xp pro at the top of the page.

NVIDIA GEFORCE GT 320M CUDA 1GB

I installed the audio driver and have got sound but there is still some audio thing needed. I think the VGA driver has some sound driver files with it as i seen a sounds folder in the win7 drivers.

    Any help would be mint.

Hi, here are a couple of links for your display adapter:

    32-bit XP Driver: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/notebook-winxp-266.58-whql-driver-uk.html

    64-bit XP driver: http://www.nvidia.co.uk/object/notebook-winxp-x64-266.58-whql-driver-uk.html

Let me know if that works for you, hopefully it will :)

As far as the audio is concerned make sure you've installed everything from the acer site as that list looks pretty comprehensive, if you're still having problems then let me know what you've installed and we'll go from there.

You're welcome. Is it just the XP install you're having problems with, or do you need drivers for 7 too?

I had a quick look for the audio and network drivers for you, but without success; it looks like everything on the Acer site is for Windows 7 and Google was no better when searching the notebook model.

The easiest thing to do is use a system information tool to identify the hardware and then look for the corresponding drivers individually.

Here are a couple of free tools that'll do the job:

You only need one, not both, I just thought I'd provide a couple of links so you can use whichever you prefer. There are many others too of course...

Let me know how you get on once you've identified the hardware; if you still have problems finding compatible drivers tell me what the hardware is and I'll see if I have any luck. It should just be a Google search away once you know the hardware though :)
