    1. SSH Access - No
    2. Storage Outside Document Root - No

    a) That's well outside the scope of what this cluster is aiming for. Not only that, but even if I were to offer it, I certainly wouldn't be letting every Joe/Jane signup with no kind of validation at all, I'd have a few million relayed spams, a bunch of DDoS bots, and who knows what else running. No thanks! Feel free to give feedback though.

    b) Why? You're chrooted for a reason. Is there some reason you shouldn't be?

Go for it, test whatever you like. :) If I were capable of *knowing* everything to test, I wouldn't need to give away free accounts. :p

The testing is going to take longer than a week, #1. #2 - I don't have any plans/intentions of deleting/removing accounts, I just made a disclaimer *in case* it were necessary to change things on the cluster, or so on. It's only costing me electricity for about 20 servers + a couple hundred in bandwidth fees a month to run the cluster *right now* so assuming the bandwidth usage doesn't get insane, I'll continue to fund things indefinately. I'll also be adding a lot more services as time goes on, ways to administrate your account, add sub-users to your account, change email aliases, change passwords, setup databases, blah blah blah. :)

    Hope that helps,
    David

Your username is "stuffhere@corenode.com". Not just "stuffhere". In your case, your username is: "blackburncj@corenode.com". Make sure you include the @corenode.com when logging into ftp, email, etc.

That would be because it's not http://ftp.corenode.com/ :p Try ftp://ftp.corenode.com. Better yet, get a real FTP client. SmartFTP is free and works fine.

    I asked because,
    1) I wanted to change permissions of some files and folders, to make them writable by httpd

    2) I like to store php libraries and configuration files outside of the document root

1 - You can do this via ftp
2 - Ok, that makes sense. What I can do/change in the future is create a public_html or such directory, and make that the document root. I'll get to that when I finish working on the clustering kernel modules.

Thank you for your input. :)

#1 - I was able to login using your username (drastik@corenode.com) and password to ftp just fine.

#2 - You didn't use your real name, your account will be purged tonight along with all the other people who used false information. Sorry, but I can't let people have accounts with fake names, if the feds come knocking on my door because of child pornography or such, I want to at least be able to say I _attempted_ to get the correct information.

If you registered with your real name, your username would be: lastnamefirstinitialmiddleinitial@corenode.com. Sorry, I'm not doing vanity usernames. ;)

I can't log in to the email or the storage - it says 'incorrect username' (even after copying and pasting from the confirmation email!)
    My username is edgesr@corenode.com

Well, the time has come, I need to make some major architectual changes to the way things are done to make available some functionality, and I'm going to need to wipe all of the accounts. Ignore the (temporary) hideous color scheme, but http://corenode.com has more information as well as a thank you to you all. Once I've gotten everything the way I like it, I'll update everybody and let those who have helped test so far have free accounts, as a thank you. :) If you need to back anything up, or need database dumps, you better do that now (or email admin@corenode.com if you need database dumps). I'll make backups just in case of the database, but the files will be removed. Again, thank you all for your help, it has been absolutely wonderful. Over 100 active users and very few glitches. ;) 72 gigs of files hosted! You people really are crazy! :p

I hate to be a nag but how much longer till the testers get a free account? I see that you have completed the resetup, and I would like to start building my website. I would also like to suggest giving a mysql database to each user. If not I would really like mysql with my account, at least one database, if I am one who gets the free accounts.
