I recently obtained a copy of Discreet 3DS Max, can anyone reccomend a good way to learn how to use it?
Inside 3D studio MAX. The inside series are fantastic books for anyone who's even remotely serious about their 3D package. You'll be looking at about £40/$60. Alternatively, just google '3D studio max beginner tutorial'. You're bound to turn up a heap of stuff. head over to www.3dcafe.com as well. Hope that helps a little
Check out max forums . These host a lot of max tutorials and also a decent forum, however Im not sure how much of it is specific to max 5. As its not long been released you may be better off buying a book, I would recomend one of the New riders books, Max 5 fundamentals or inside. Also try ebay, on the odd occasion I have seen these books go for a fraction of the retail price. Pete.
