got all my parts today, after putting everything together, installed windows xp. then after i installed the driver for my sapphire x800 gto, the system wouldnt boot and it kept asking to boot from cd-rom. i'm just wondering what i'm doing wrong, i think the psu isnt enough. any thoughts? no it was after i installed the gfx card, and it was trying 2 boot from the gfx card cd so i took it out, and it start asking 4 system disk. welll it worked before hand with installing xp on 640x480 pixel, dunno if that helps
Sounds like the drivers have become somehow corrupted; it's also possible that you have a defective card. Does the BIOS or Windows keep asking to boot from CD? Check the boot order in your BIOS to make sure it's set to HDD first.
Well i have problem where everytime i restart it asks for system disk. All i do is insert disk and press enter then it boots. A hasel yes but alot easier then reformating. My problem was a screwed up partitioning made a partition before my windows partition. Is that the first time you rebooted the system after instal.
guys thnx 4 the posts, sorted out my problem, cuz when i installed xp had my old harddrive on it, with cable select and my old drive turns out 2 be the master. all the master boot record was saved onto that, and that's y it wouldnt boot. so problem solved. thnx again ^^
