Need help with ati sapphire x800 gto pci-e

    got all my parts today, after putting everything together, installed windows xp. then after i installed the driver for my sapphire x800 gto, the system wouldnt boot and it kept asking to boot from cd-rom. i'm just wondering what i'm doing wrong, i think the psu isnt enough. any thoughts?

    Motherboard: msi k8n neo4
    CPU: AMD (Venice) Athlon 64Bit 3200+ Socket 939pin 512k L2cache 90nm
    RAM: Kingston 1GB 400MHz DDR PC3200 DIMM 3-3-3
    Video Card: Sapphire X800GTO 256mb GDDR3 PCI-E
    PSU: Hiper 425W Low Noise Dual Fan
    Hard drives: Western Digital WD2500JD 250GB 7200RPM SATA/150 8MB Cache

    The PSU will be fine. Is the XP CD still in your drive?

    no it was after i installed the gfx card, and it was trying 2 boot from the gfx card cd so i took it out, and it start asking 4 system disk. welll it worked before hand with installing xp on 640x480 pixel, dunno if that helps

    Sounds like the drivers have become somehow corrupted; it's also possible that you have a defective card. Does the BIOS or Windows keep asking to boot from CD? Check the boot order in your BIOS to make sure it's set to HDD first.

    Well i have problem where everytime i restart it asks for system disk. All i do is insert disk and press enter then it boots. A hasel yes but alot easier then reformating. My problem was a screwed up partitioning made a partition before my windows partition.

    Is that the first time you rebooted the system after instal.

    guys thnx 4 the posts, sorted out my problem, cuz when i installed xp had my old harddrive on it, with cable select and my old drive turns out 2 be the master. all the master boot record was saved onto that, and that's y it wouldnt boot. so problem solved. thnx again ^^
