Hey guys this is first post on the forum. Any way i think i need help with my build.
    Budget: £500-£650
Main use of build: gaming(priority), some video encoding
(My current computer has nothing of worth)
    Overclocking: intermediate
    Extras: don't need crossfire

This is what i have so far:
    CPU: amd athlon II x3 435 AM3 :£61
    GPU:HD 4890 (already bought) :£135
    Storage: 500gb barracuda :£43
    Ram :4gb ddr3 1333Mhz :£83
cooler:artic cooling freezer 7 pro v2 ?? need help here

This is where it gets tricky, I need help with the case, motherboard, what resolution monitor i need for new monitor and the psu wattage. Don't need periphals at the moment. Any reccomedations will help. I don't need specific items e.g corsair vx650 i just need the gist because i can do the research myself

Check frostytech for the CPU cooler. The AC7 is okay but not great. The HDT-1283 and 212+ are really cheap now. Don't pay more than £20 really. the larger coolers need about 160mm clearance so a 200mm wide case will usually fit these.

PSU - about 400W. there are calculators online form the PSU manufacturers but its best to read GPU reviews and see total power draw. these will usually have an i7 or something. theres an ocz one on ebuyer for £30.

Check wiki for AMD chipsets; they wil break them down so you get a better understanding of the perks of each chipset. If OCing try and get a board with lots of heatsinks on. Weigh up crossfire and whether you need mATX(don't discount it as there are some nice cases) early.

    Monitor - no idea.

I recently built a PC at that price range, with the following:

    CPU: AMD Phenom II X4 955 £121
    MB: Msi 770 C45 £49
    RAM: 4Gb Corsair Dominator 1600MHz £100
Case: Antec 300, with 2 Scythe Gentle Typhoons for the front £55
    PSU: Corsair VX550 £65
    Titan Fenrir cooler £34
    1Tb Samsung spinpoint F3 £60

    Prices are rough estimates.

There's no such thing as a cheap psu get a good quality one, A friend bought one of those cheap ocz one's and it just kept tripping the main fuse. Which was better that taking half his system out instead.

I'd stay clear of coolermaster PSU's like the plague, and stick with Corsair, Silverstone or BeQuiet.

550w is more than adequate for that setup.

Hell, the Corsair modular 450W would power that rig a treat.

They're made by the same people who made your PSU. CWT are very good; no seasonic admitted but very fine none the less.

I would look at the samsung f3 instead of the seagate. (if you can find them in stock)

The 600w PSU may be a bit much; keep an eye on scan today only as sometimes some nice units pop up. 20 posts on hexus or avforums nets you free postage.

    Best of luck!
