    Hi,
I buy a new XFX HD5970 Black Edition 4gb and Asus Rampage III Extreme.
The problem is that the mobo cant detect a VGA. The VGA red light is turned on and no boot.
I use also a new PSU- Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 1200w.
    All the hardware is new.

Please members, Iam not an expert with this matter but I am very sad with this problem.
    Can help me please ?

    Many thanks for all.
    Regards

Starting with the simple things. Make sure the card is inserted in the top PCI-Express graphics slot properly. It is a very big card so it might need a little support to hold it, otherwise try laying the case flat when you turn the system on. Also have you connected the relevant power sockets from the power supply to the graphics card?

I'd just go through and double check everything. Then if it's all ok, I'd try reinserting the card into the slot ( weirdly fixes a lot of problems). Failing that I'd remove everything from the case and try it outside of the case.

Just in case you didn't get it sorted, be aware; on the RIII motherboard there are microswitches near to the on-board power / re-start buttons. These switches allow you to turn the PCI lanes on and off. Make sure that this hasn't been switched off by mistake.

My board came with lanes 3 & 4 turned off. Took me ages to work out why my sound card wasn't working.
