Surprised no one has replied but as for the warcraft not being smooth I would put it entirely down to the Intel graphics which I assume you're using it's crap at the best of times. Do you have a seperate graphics card or are you using the intergrated stuff? As for not watching movies what kind are you trying to watch? You may struggle with HD stuff for example but shouldn't have a problem with SD videos.

If you lack a dedicated video card then this would be the perfect solution...

It's fairly low power, so I would hope it won't strain you computers PSU too much! I have one myself and it makes a lowly CPU much better.

    PC just sucks for gaming

1GB of RAM is not enough for windows 7 + gaming and is the biggest bottleneck after GPU
CPU is mediocre but should be ok for basic stuff
integrated graphics are the worst so a dedicated GPU would do wonders for any game.

If you do fancy getting your hands on the pc upgrading game Drunkduck then we'd talk you through what needs to be done. GPU comes first though!

Usually I try not to recommend people to spend more than they need, but in this case, I'd heavily recommend you build/buy a totally new PC.

With those specs, it will be barely enough to run a web browser and a few tabs.

If you really couldnt stretch to that, your other option would be to stick a dual core CPU in that motherboard, maybe a E6300 or a E2180 - both of which can be had for under £20 on Ebay, add another 1GB (or 2GB) of RAM, and a discrete GPU like the one Blogins suggested or this

The cpu is single core and is slow.

See if you can find a E6300 or similar on ebay.

The motherboard is actually quite decent, id keep that.

Find a 2gb stick of ddr2 on ebay, and then you just need to find a cheapish grpahics card to fit your budget. A 8800/9800gt would be decent.

No need to panic and that mahcine can easily run wow just needs a bit of ebay hunting.

Trouble is I get the impression that this is a pre-built so perhaps the PSU is not up to the likes of an 8800 or 9800. If you could take some pictures of the internals Drunkduck that would help us evaluate your computer. Just need to unlatch the side panel and have a look inside! Also get some information on the PSU (Power Supply Unit) by looking at its side. A brand, number or rated wattage would help us give better advice.

I'd say for a £40 outlay we could probably make it play games on low settings quite easily. Certainly at the very least speed the sluggish computer up a little! I don't think he sounds like a potential Quad Core user guys so a simple bump in performance would work wonders!

Sure that needs looking at too.

I get the impression it would be a budget overhaul, but that makes it fun :)

He only mentions Warcraft 3 so right now I'm assuming that's all he wants to play, something a 8800GT is definately overpowered for :p
