well i have been living with my little ati 9200se for over a year now(it was all i could afford at the time). I finnally have the money(little more then 200 USD) to step up and i cant decide what is better.

    For a while i was looking at a 9600xt( http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-123-132&depa=1 ), but now i discovered i can afford a 9800pro 128mb.
i noticed that many of the new 9800pro's accualy are 9800xt's but with downgraded bio's. my thought is that i could oc a 9800pro to xt speeds or even replace the bios with xt bios. SO my question is what card is better a 9800pro or a 9600xt Before and after oc'ing.

    http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-127-127&depa=1 I was considering this 9800pro.

    Thanks for all your help.

prejudice is a crutch. your loss.

given that though, i would definately go with the 9800pro 128mb, just make sure its 256 bit and not 128bit, or an "SE" "EZ" or "LE" etc version. The one you linked looks great, a bit overpriced when comparing to a 6600gt with its new tech and all but we've covered the nvidia thing. The 9800pro should beat the pants of the 9600xt both before and after overclocking.

Out of the two cards you mention I'd go for the 9800pro. It's much better than the 9600xt.
