I currently own a Lian Li V2110B which I am not too happy with due to the airflow which it really lacks also I have moved all my harddrives to a mediaserver so I dont need giant space anymore, but I have a hard time finding a replacement case. Things I like: Removeable mb tray Hole for cpu backplate on mb tray Alumunium Airflow Silence Neutral looks Things that is not THAT important as I am not sure I will ever get watercooling: Holes for watercooling at the back and space for a triplerad mounted on top of the case. 4 5.25 Slots (2 for DVD and fan control and 2 for Typhoon III pump + res unit) I have looked at these Silverstone FT01 (I will remove the top harddrive cage which should improve airflow from that fan) Lian Li : PC-7FB (Cheap and nice looking) CM HAF (Very big and not very good looking but it got super airflow) CM 840 (Very big but nice looking and nice airflow also quiet pricy) What else should I consider (Beware I live in Denmark, so needs to be shipable or buyable here)
No, had one and didnt like it, too plastic like. Also I dont like the compartment buildup in such a small case, it gets VERY cramped.
i was gonna reccomend a p180 or p182, cause of their drive bay setups... very nice.. Maybe a SFF case (shuttle perhaps) with a fan or big passive heatsink would work...
I dont need harddrive bays, I have a VelociRaptor as the only drive in my case. If I get more drives its going to be 2 x SSD drives which again wont take any space. http://www.myupload.dk/showfile/1911382ebec.jpg Thats how it looks now allthough the other drive is just some garbage I had some picture backup on, its not something I use. I considering the Antec 900 or 902 as they have nice airflow and is very cheap. Also it dont look that bad allthough I would have to get some new front fans without light I think.
Lian Li PC-A20? But that probably won't float your boat either, considering you're unhappy with the PC-V2110. Then there's the new PC-B10, but that seems like a poor rehash of the PC-A20.
My vote would go for the FT01. The main down side I see is wire management (which isn't as good as a some of cases out now but is better than a lot) and no motherboard tray. Contrary to what many reviews say the top filter isn't that hard to remove and reinstall. The filter is plenty flexible enough that you can pull it straight out to the front cage and bow it down enough to remove it, to reinstall just reverse. The only trick is to keep it straight or it will bind. Over all I am quite happy with mine.
Year I want the FT01, but its just abit too expensive and the cheapest place I can find that ship to denmark is 175£ inc shipping. I would like to get down to like 140-150£ inc shipping
www.shg.dk, www.prc-data.dk, www.komplett.dk They all carry the case, although only Komplett seems to have it in stock.
I know, its just a tad too expensive imo. I can get the Thermaltake Element S 50% cheaper and I cant really find out whats the best deal This one looks the best and is alu but is expensive TT looks decent but is not alu, but have a good sidefan..
Well, it certainly lacks in the "neutral looks" department. Have to say, the same goes for the Element S series. But it's Thermaltake so why should I be surprised... The case I'm personally most interested in seeing a review of has to be the Gigabyte Cupio 6140.
That gigabyte looks nice, from the pictures it looks like it has a sidefan, but from the specs it dont :S also many of the sidefan cases dont support tall cpu coolers like my Mugen II which is required.
It supposedly has a meshed side panel. Might also be a tad too small for you, but for me the size is near perfect.
Well this is how my insides look now http://www.up-it.dk/uploads/090415/38i-15042009099.jpg and chipset and mosfest are what I recon is holding my OC back (Cant get 3.6Gz stable on my Q6600 SLACR) and Iam not really sure that getting the FT01 will add alot of chipset cooling (I could be wrong though), I think a sidefan will cool the chipset alot more.
