I just overclocked my cpu (core 2 duo e6700) 10% using the ai overclock, and it wouldn't boot, i had a boot time failure.

Do i need to put a little more vcore down it? And what kinda voltage should i use, it's set to auto, when i bring up the bios menu for it, it only starts at 1.9 marks, then goes down, what's a safe but overclockable voltage for these chips?

it could be that you need more Vcore, or it could be something else, it's usually a case of trial and error, just don't push anything too high, try small incriments first.

Start by overcloking off the FSB I had the E6600 and it went to 3.2Ghz on standard voltage. I think I had it at 1.35v.
I don't remember the max on these chips, but 1.45v would be safe as long as you have decent cooling.
What ever you do, don't go dumping 1.9v through it.

As long as the temps are kept low enough under load (i.e. less than 85 degrees ish) then you will be safe, try in small steps first, taking it up, stress it, if it blue screens under instant-ish load then you need more vcore normally.

Keeping trying and eventually you will find something stable that works 24/7 on low temps :)
