Right, I want to do something with my Armor. I've had it for ages, and apart from changing the fans to green LED ones, not much has changed to it.

So, I've currently got green LED fans inside, with some cables braided in UV green and some UV green SATA cables. Then there's two UV cathodes.

I would like to paint the inside of the case black, but that'll have to wait till a hardware upgrade when I have an excuse to empty the case. At that time I would also cut some cable routing holes.

I'm planning on painting the top plastic section, and probably the front bay covers.

I'm not sure what colour to choose though. I want something that goes with the green of the fans, but I don't really want to use Blue as its boring, :D. I've done three Photoshops of the front of the case with red, green and blue. Opinions and suggestions on what would look best please, :D.

I know its all personal opinion etc, but I don't know what my opinion is, so I need some outside views. I would like to do green, but I've just seen an Armor that had been done like that, and as awesome as it looked, I don't want to just copy someone elses work, and lime green paint is probably going to be tricky/expensive to find.

    So, here are the pictures.

I would have to say the green version looks best, mainly because of the green leds in there, Im not a huge fan of clashing different colours together, I would always go with black and something, but then thats just my taste, up to you in the end.

If you're looking to keep the costs down go with the green as you already have the fans and cables etc. If on the other hand you're going for a total rebuild, then you can do anything that you choose. Red and blacks classic, it's been done to death but still looks good. I'm in the middle of a project now thats going to be black and red. There's the option to go orange with fans now available, again that'll work well with black.

I'm planning on keeping the current colours that are there. Just adding some paint to some areas.

I've just thought, I've created these concepts, which may look pretty good, but the chances of me finding a paint that's the same colour is pretty slim, :D, doh.

I do like red and black, and after seeing the Cosmos S that someone on heres got in red and black, I like it even more. But I don't really want to buy some more fans and cables and stuff.
I suppose actually, I might not need to buy many cables. SATA cables are red, my power cables are already black. Might have a look for some red fans, :D

The green in that pic is very similar to whats used on the nissan micras from about 10/12 years ago

ah yes, looks as though the new micra has a similar colour too.

    I'm still not sure.

Don't know if it looks right. With just those front bits painted it'll look like a bit of a half arsed job.

Some times a few well chosen bits painted can look better than a badly designed and badly executed full case mod
Adding a few well chosen highlights can look great

I loved my amor case.. I did actually paint the inside of it a silver / pink and orange colour, sounds gipping but the result was kind of pleasing.
I then backed over it in the garage .. and bought a mozart case, again due to stupidity and carelessness I reversed over in the garage. That wasnt built haf as well as the Armor case either.

In conclusion. what ever colour you decide .. try not to reverse over it

lol, that'd be quite hard as it'd mean somehow getting my car up to the second floor of the house, then into my room. And the case won't go downstairs much as its far too heavy to lift, :D, pulled my back out trying to lift it once.

I'm surprised the case took damage, I would have thought it would have inflicted more damage to the car the way the cases are built, :D

what made me feel even more stupid ... was the fact I was getting annoyed at a beeping noise in the car..turns out it was the reversing sensors. I didnt know I had them.
2 tonne car fitted with idiot .. vs Thermaltake Armor.. it wasnt a fair contest

I have thought about a colour scheme though and have you seen florescent sprays? that yellow is truely eye catching.. Yellow and black.. get a viper CPU cooler.. yellow fans in there.. Angry Bee ..

I've got a can of plastikote fluorescent green that I'd tried to paint a mobile phone with. It didn't go well.

Its quite a matt colour too. Might try it again on a test piece.

I had another idea for the colour.

Yellow, sort of like blarte's idea.

Stick with the green fans, and paint the front yellow.

Thought of that after I went out to the garage and noticed the can of yellow paint I'd used on a case a while ago. Unfortunately, the bays seem to be painted with some weird ass paint and use some weird plastic, so sanding them didn't seem to work, and then the white base coat didn't go on properly.
And then, the yellow paint is crap, seems to be too watery.

The green one still seems ok, so I'll probably give that a go once the yellow has dried.

But, I may not be able to do it now, I'd need to get some more white paint, and probably more green, and probably some more lacquer, and some more sand paper. And I've never been brilliant at painting stuff like this.

damn my lack of creative/painting skills.

Might try some different base coat, I've got some I used on my fiesta door handles that worked quite well. I also think that the weather isn't warm enough for painting.

If that was from an aerosol, you didnt shake it enough, hence the thin/wateriness of the paint!
