FYI Firefox's spell checker is racist. mine is stuck on en-us and keeps bringing up colour as a typo !
Don't bother with engrish or american it's far to complicated.
I think we should all learn Japanese or Chinese because that what all instruction manuals are written in.

FYI a manual is that paper thing that tells you how to use something !

He might be writing better than he speaks. You can post more on English-speaking forums, or read more, but for me, the best way to learn any language is to force yourself to be submersed in it. Impractical and expensive, but if you move to an English speaking community, or go live in one for a few months, you'll probably find that you'll have improved immensely.

Why would you want to learn danish? ;)

Islandic (or whatever the language is called...) sound like a pretty cool language. Some say it have some common things with Norwegian.

your english seems pretty good (not perfect but understandable imo) so i think you should just read more - and not necessarily books. There's tons of good stuff to read on the net. Try reading articles that are of interest to you on wikipedia.

Another way to learn really good english is to read the dictionary. It worked for Malcolm X... er it taught him how to read but it should work for this too, and then you'll know more words than most people. Just don't listen to rap music to learn English.

No, he means 'practice'. Practice is the noun, and practise is the verb (except in the US, where it is 'practice' for both). I think it is you who needs to brush up on his English. ;)

Learning another language is something that takes a lot of dedication.
I would love nothing more than to be able to communicate fluently in French, I start and stop so often that I forget where I'm at and what I know.

As a child they taught us Italian in school, and when I was learning the days of the week in French I had to think of them in Italian, then French. For some reason I associated the different days with Italian, not English.

In Belgium (Brugge, actually) I asked the waiter how many languages he could speak and he said five! FIVE languages.. I was stunned.

As others have, read articles that interest you and perhaps try listening to an online radio station (one that doesn't play rap music).

£1 on a secret new language Nexxo has been developing for the intellingent super race of humans that he is part of. Any sub-Nexxo normal person who speaks it dies instantly.

    Yea, maybe Dutch too.

Well, it starts during childhood really. If I look back at my Belgian childhood: when I was about 11, they started teaching us French in school. English at 13 (with French ongoing, of course). German at 15 if you choose a language-oriented study in secondary school.

Nexxo, being a Dutch guy, undoubtedly learned some French and English in school. He knows German because he's possibly a filthy closet neo-nazi, and massively improved his English in England because, as a possible filthy closet neo-nazi, he believes that immigrants should assimiliate.
The neo-nazi thing is just a stab in the dark, though (heh, totally uncool "pun" there).
