Hello there Guys, long time no talk. How’s everyone doing? Well I am back and of course need your guy’s opinion. In July my new Rig will be One Year Old. (I Feel Really Happy). I have updated The System Ram from 4GB to 8GB and I have also put in the New Raptor 150GB HD and I am glad that this is my now Main HD. So total of 4 HD in my system and of course running Windows 7 Ultimate RC as my OS. This I have updated so far. Now I was planning to update couple of other things, so this is where you guys come in. I have couple of Question for you, so here they are: 1) My case right now is CM Stacker 830 Black and of course it’s Big. I am looking to replacing this case with something new. My Price range is below $250. I have been looking around and so far this is the only case that has caught my attention Lian Li - PC-V1010 or PC-V1000Z or PC-7FW or PC-60FW Your thoughts on these Case or if you have any other recommendations, please feel free to share. Thank you for your time. 2) Graphic card I have right now is 8800GT and I have no problem with at all. I was looking into up-dating this too. Is this a Good Time to Update or Wait? Also what would be your guy’s recommendations? Nvidia or ATI doesn’t matter. Price wise I am looking to send $200 or less! This is would be used for Windows 7 and Casual Gaming. Hey josh if you are a real skint on price wait until windows 7 comes out in autumn, this will coincide with the slew of nvidia gtx300 and ati cards which will drive the current price of current generation cards down even further. if u aren't in a real hurry wait over the summer until then, i am i'm sure reasonable savings will be had.
Just bought a XFX 275 XXX and very pleased with it. You could play the waiting game with the 300 series as always in the upgrade business you could sit their waiting for the next best thing for ever.
And I agree with CB [as in the other thread]. You can wait for the next big thing... and then the next, and the next, and the next,... This time though I'd really wait for the next big thing: DX11 cards. Due in Sep or Oct, maybe Nov, to meet Win7. As said before that should really drop DX10 cards' prices.
If you are happy with your current graphics card there is no point in upgrading it. If you still want to upgrade it all of the above would be suitable. Personally I would go for a GTX275 but another option would be the ATI 4890. Case: how about an Antec 300? its Lian Li PC7 sized-ish but cheaper and I think it looks a bit nicer.
Thx for the input guys. Overall most of you guys are telling me to wait on the graphic card, which I have no problem with. My 8800gt is work with no problems, so if I have to wait, I can wait for DirectX 11 (Total forgoet about this, Thx). I am also looking to updating my 22" to either Bigger LCD or the new Samsung LED 32" Baby TV! How about a little bit more opinions on the Case Subject. Mid-Tower would be my First Choice, because I already have the CM Stacker 830 as Full Tower. Thank You!
Obsidian Series 800D from Corsair, Just look at it... Case Available end of June, Start of July. You can see the pre production model at 2:50 in vid has slight problem in underside CPU hole location? and he mentions they need to retool for correct production and once again at end of Video. ... thats the case for you every thing else is second best.
