the usb ones are an external soundcard i guess from the usb.

so unless you can find an audio program that can output to two soundcards your not gonna be in luck.

A DJ type program might work? Worth looking into? Mix Vibes is what i use, and im pretty sure it has the right feature.

Are the two sets going to be used in 1 room, or two different rooms?
Maybe you can try to connect the jack connector with the external soundcard?

cheers guys, there is no external sound card though, the usb speakers go thorugh a subwoofer first and then to a usb plug. And there going to be in different rooms, With the same music.

The USB 'speakers' act like another soundcard, iTunes and WMP can only play to a SINGLE soundcard.

You will need another program that is able to output two both, most DJ programs should manage this.

http://www.mixvibes.com/mv6/MixVibes6demo.exe Try that, I'm not sure how you set it up for dual outputs but i read you can have dual outputs, Altho you might need the Full version which will cost. I'll go have another look around the interweb for something else now.

Right, I've found a possible solution here, and i've tried it and it works. Firstly i need to know, Can you hear the speakers playing downstairs, from upstairs and visa versa. Also, Are you planning on setting up a playlist (Would be easier) or just picking odd songs throughout the night. Would it be good to be able to play two different songs- one up one down? Because that would be do-able. As soon as you answer this i'll write you up a quick How-To.

Ok firsty i must praise my dual screens for making this mucho-easy.

Anyways for this i've looked into Winamp seeing as i use it and naturally assumed you do. Right, open up a copy of Winamp. Click "Options" and click "preferences", A box should appear, Click on "General Preferences" and select "Allow Multiple Instances" then click Close.
Now, open another instance of Winamp while leaving the first open. Assuming you've already set up the first winamp to use soundcard (1) (as i'll call it) Leave that alone. Now with the new Instance you've opened go into "Options>Preferences>plug-ins>Output" Double click "Direct Sound Output" to which another box should appear. Under the "Device" tab, Click the drop-down menu and select Soundcard (2) as your output Device. Click "Apply>ok" and the box will dissapear. Now click "Close" On the Winamp Preferences box. With the new Instance of Winamp. May i suggest chaging the colour scheme so its easier to know which is which. Open a music file and Play, It should play through The Speakers its connected to, Now pause it and with the other Instance, Open and play a music file to test its outputting to the different soundcards.

Now simply create a playlist as you normally would and load it into both instances of Winamp, Now set both Instances to "play". Unfortunatly one will be very slightly ahead of the other, Altho the faster you click "play" on the 2nd instance the shorter the gap (if you understand). To play two different songs at once is simple, Just open a song on instance one (EG:, Red hot chili peppers) and play, Then on Instance two, play something else (EG: James Blunt)

Hope that helps, If you have *Any* Questions at all just ask and i'll try my hardest to help you.

    Mike

    edit:
    Go for it :thumb:
