Is this worth it??? I want a top performer so i dont have to upgrade it again for some time......let me know CHECK IT OUT
its an MX... its not a top performer. i see a whole bunch of people these days rushing out to buy these cards just because they have a 'geforce 4' tag on them. dont fall for the confusing marketing.... read a few reviews of the entire geforce 4 lineup and how it compares to the gf3 ti series... youll see that the gf4mx's arent any better than the high end gf3s
No. read the posts. 'They aren't any better than GF3s' That's a couple of hundred nicker right there. GF4 MX is half that. Do the math. And yes. Wait for the Ti series in a month or two (or three!) if you want top performance. And start saving. Cos you you aint getting one at a price like that!
The GF4MX is interesting...it seems to be more closely related to GF2 than to GF3 or GF4Ti. It seems to be a GF2 with LMA II, and lacks the DX8 features of GF3. This is why GF3 (even Ti200) outperforms GF4MX460 in 3dmark2001 and Aquanox, but they are similar in DX7 stuff, like Q3. For future games, GF3 is a better choice than GF4MX. Go for a GF3 or GF4Ti. Avoid GF4MX.
one thing to add to this... the GF4MX is here to Replace the GF2MX's and Not out perform the GF3's.... besides, how can they when they are priced at only just over £100?

from wot ive seen the gf3 ti 200's outperform all the gf4 mx's. Also the gf3 is fully Dx8 supporting and the gf4 mx isnt. But, the top gf4 mx is about £130 i think and u can now get gf3 ti200's for around that price. So surely it'd make more sense to pick up a gf3 ti200 quickly before they all go. ?? just my £0.02 CaRRiT
spose if u just wont braggin' rights to having a gf4 then yeah i spose u cud get a gf4 mx. but i dont see the point. u cant back up the braggin' with any benchies if u wont to brag properly and back it up with some fps scores then get a gf3. For both get a proper gf4, sorted. CaRRiT
