I heard a story in class this morning it goes something like this "that accident I had yesterday; I'm getting f*cked, the lady who hit me has no insurance and is on welfare. She is paying a $100 fine and I have to buy a new car ($2000)"

Right now I have my temps and I would say I'm a good driver. The things people do just amazes me. I have almost hit when an old lady wasn't paying attention going out of a gas station. On I90 the people merge without signaling. One of those people came within 3 feet of hitting me going 75mph.

The thing I hate most is people on cell phone while driving. If I find them I pull up next to them and honk my horn, then the bird. All of this is within 4 months of getting my temps

Unfortunately in FL no-one knows what the hell a roundabout is, i normally blast right through them (when there is no traffic coming of course) but alot of people come to a complete stop INSIDE the roundabout!

Ahhh i'd agree with pretty much all the comments so far. I love driving, despite only having a 70mph punto. Idiots in the middle lane are hell for me, as there's no more speed past 70, so i can't pull into the outside lane. Sitting behind them flashing is the only option. However that's probably illegal because you're intimidating them... god knows... Drove from Bham to Leeds the other day, and had a stretch of busy road, everyone doing 50mph. Now as it was a 'queue' of traffic, me and a few others managed to do 70mph up the inside behind the trucks for 5 miles! Obviously driving closer to the hard shoulder and keeping an eye out for those trying to pull in. There should be some serious punishments for driving in the outer lanes.

Another pet hate due to my car is people speeding up when you overtake gradually, meaning you can't pull back in and the carefully judged gap you pulled into to ensure you didn't hold anyone up ends up being miles too small.

I pride myself on not putting other drivers out, i just with the rest of the country would do the same. A few mods to the next car I get are needed i think:

Higher intesity lights, that can't be ignored when they're flashed.
A switch on the brake lights - flip it on when peopel are tailgating, and floor the car too... confuse the hell out of them
Some bright blue strobes / LEDs. People sitting in the middle lane, flip them on for a second, just enoguh to make them wonder what the car behind is...

That said, you can't beat driving on britains motorways at 3am...

Last year around this time I was driving a friend home from school. I get near his house, put on my left turn signal, and am about to turn in, when suddenly on a two-lane road(one on each side I mean), the guy goes into the left lane and passes me and I nearly turn into him. Dude was a business man looking type in a fancy car, nice Mercedes or Lexus or something who was talking on the phone while driving and actually had the nerve to shoot me a dirty look as he passed me. Honestly, that is like the definition of jack@$$.

Another thing that pisses me off is that people don't like to use turn signals. It really pisses me off when people turn without a signal.

Another person nearly changed lanes into me while I was driving my dad's car. Looked at the driver, yep, on a cell phone.

If I ever need to make a call from the car, I'll either pass my phone to another member in the car, and have them answer or call depending.

The latest scam that seems to be going on up my way (considering I live in a crap part of town) is fake tax discs. Somebody got a blank disc, and has been scanning it and printing copies for people - presumably selling them. What annoys me is that there is a really high unemployment rate in my area, but these people can afford 2 cars per house! So much for the DVLA and DSS clamping down on fraud.

imo txt drivers are worse then talking drivers, but the intersting thing i heard on the tele a while ago was that the people who use bluetooth/wired headsets are just as bad as people who hold the cellphone and drive, as there focusing on the conversation then the road, good thing they havent really cought on hear in nz

You sometimes need to make some rough driving maneuvers to survive on the roads around here... It's not just the inexperienced and inattentive here that can cause a wreck, especially in this weather, but the freight tractor trailers can be insanely inconsiderate and easily kill you on the highway if you're not prepared to share more than half of the road with them. There are a lot of them.
I'll keep that in mind and buy an air horn at Canadian Tire tomorrow. Would like to see their reaction, I sometimes drive with the window open this season anyway so a good blare from the canister will surely give them a 'chilling' startle behind the wheel.

went to police station to file a report this morning, hopefully they'll come back with something if the insurance company doesn't.
although i must say, police 'competence' isn't particularly high. rang them last night and they said i would need to report it within 24hrs as the report would be stamped timed and dated, and i could go to my local as it was open 24hrs.

go to my local at 7am today, closed! ring them: "what? no, it's open 10-6..."
so i go to another 15mins drive away that _is_ open 24hrs, who then tell me that the one i'd just come from according to them _was_ open from 7am, and that they don't timestamp the reports!

bizarre. ah well, paperwork got done in the end, now i play the waiting game. it's such a shame i have to do all this faff, it's really not a great deal of damage (i am mainly fighting to uphold the principle) and would cost nothing at all to fix with chipsaway, but goddamn the driver drove a-****ing-way!!

One thing that gets my goat is these people that insist on permanently raising their dipped headlights to maximum so they can see a few more inches of the road in front. It's pointless and it causes a hazard. Why call them dipped headlights? Bah!

Every bloody headlight poses a hazard to me as im that low to the ground theyre all in my eyes :(

The ones that piss me off the most is when a big-ish car, such as a van or 4x4 is behind me with his lights on the left light shines in the left mirror and the right light in the right mirror, these mirrors both point towards my face, so im blinded!

I don't drive, but i do cycle, and that is one thing that does hack me off, i have to litterally look at the floor directly below me inorder not to be blinded. Another thing that annoys me are the fools that drive with fog lights on, which, if its not foggy, is not allowed.
Buses that are approaching bus stops, but overtake first, with the bus stop 20m infront of me, but they still park right next to the curb, and theres not much i can do, unless i fancy meeting someones bumper or the road:wallbash:

MY friends solved this sam, with some really bring head-mounted lights, they're HID and apparently brighter than a mercedes headlight, let me tell you it hurts to have it pointed at you, has a wide angle.
Its really weird being able to look around and have it all lit up is amazing, and you can have you revenge on those cars, looking straight at the driver :D !

i was with my friends when something like this happened (we were rear-ended) so we chased them until the Cops came pulled both of us over (friend got a warning for speeding) and the other guy got hauled to jail and revocation of his license. Although the guy who hit us really screwed up the back of my friend's car.
