    Train horns :D :thumb:

Another one mentioned is people not dimming there lights. I hate it so much that I will not dim my head light unless they dim there first, on my brother truck he has deer shinning light (3,000,000 candle light power) and if he's really really pissed he'll turn them on right into the car

The problem with behavior like that (air horns, not dipping headlights etc) is even though its retaliatory if you cause an accident by doing it are you really any less negligent that the arse hole who made you mad in the first place. What if that twit drives into someone because you dazzled them, its not kill or be killed out there that person may be a perfectly good driver having a bad day, cut them some slack you never know when it is use who will need said slack. I'm not trying to be holier than thou.

Indeed, you have to put things in perspective. It's alot easier to deal with bad drivers if you expect the worse and hope for the best. I always expect other road users to do something stupid so I drive accordingly. Of course it doesn't save you from people hitting a parked car:grr: . Trying to fight fire with fire will only drag us into a carmageddon style of driving. Best to allow plenty of time for your journey, put on some chillout music and hope there's not a potential Car out there with your paint on it.:D

For the lane-hogs on the motorway, the best line I ever heard was from Clarkson.
If there was room for me to undertake, there was room for them to have moved over. :D

And yeah, inconsiderate road users in general really piss me off.
Worst one I had recently was a guy on a push bike.
I'm stopped at lights for a pedestrian crossing, light goes green and I start pulling away.
Some tool on his bike flies right out in front of me and if I hadn't braked I'd have sent him flying.
So I give the horn a short blast and he flips the bird as he cycles away.
I had to really hold myself back from chasing him and mowing him down like I should've done in the first place!!

arg. traveling home from work yesterday some genius decided he would ride his bike one handed and carry a very large ice cooler. So large in fact that it made over taking impossible (with out going straight into on coming traffic). So for nearly a mile, instead of traveling at 40, everyone had to travel at 5 mph, while this loon weaved about.

My dad's an intelligent and fast driver.

Having been on the road with my dad in the UK quite a few times, drives from London to Nottingham and back I can also vouch for the amount of morons on the motorway who can't judge other cars speed and fail to understand what a INDICATOR is!

same here, my dad is an ex-rally car racer for Datsun, and if people are hogging the left or something he will make sure they know about it. (horns, lights, etc). although it is fun to ride with him when we are hauling ass through backwood areas in his mini cooper :naughty:

the small cars are the best, a friend of mine had a mini in a field twas lots of fun.

With regard to bad driving, some of the worst driving I have ever seen occurs on a regular basis on the A75 between Stranraer and Dumfries after the Ferry from Ireland comes in, the number of times I've come round a corner and been confronted by two HGV's steaming toward me is scary - worse at night.... and thats not to mention the nutters that overtake on blind corners..

Some of the worst drivers on the road have got to be taxi, truck and 'white van' drivers; people who spend most of their time driving and thus think they own the road and can never be at fault.

Parking can be just as bad as driving these days.

Where I live there are ever increasing numbers of cars and so far less space to park. Today I went out on my lucnh break to get something to eat, parked my car in a small car park beside the shops and went to buy my lunch. Got back to my car to find that some twa... 'nice individual' has parked infront of my car so i was boxed in!!
I had to wait until the guy parked beside me moved his car and then do a 14-point turn (14!!!!) to get out because the idiot parked so far up my ass!!

Another thing is drunk pedestrians, one road through town has nightclubs on either side, so driving along it at the wrong time is a swerve-fest. Loads of drinken spides (N.Ireland chavs/neds) falling all over the road thinking every car is a taxi for them to wave down! *shakes fist* I ended up running over a drunked Slovakian guy one night who ran out in front of me. I managed to break his arm, leg, hip and fracture some ribs and he didn't even notice!! Needed a new windscreen cause thankfully I was slowing down to pull into a lay-by at the time.

As part of the MOT the headlight adjusters have to be at their highest setting, and then the manual adjusters on the headlights themselves are adjusted to set the headlight at the right height. The adjusters inside the car are actually only there to lower the headlights when there is a heavy load in the back of the vehicle. Anyone with badly adjusted lights like that has deliberately done it, or has a crap MOT station. I agree though, they are very annoying and dangerous.

The worst is when people overtake when there’s a car coming the other way. “I do not want to hang around and wait for your disemboweled corpse to be cleaned off the road.”

there is a great difference in perspective when it comes to "perfectly safe"..... going at 30 on a 60 zone when your car has bad tires or there are a lot of curves or it is raining is a good idea.

I hada bit of a shock today actually. Going 50mph down a limited dual carriageway....a deer comes out the hedge and sort of jumps right in front of me. It does the usual thing stops looks, then sprints off - I clipped it's back legs. it managaed to get off the road and back into the hedge though:( Made me feel REALLY bad:(

Perfectly safe = straight-ish road with a clear view ahead and good conditions for grip.

If your car is unsafe or has unsafe tyres then it should not be driven.

what do i hate? trucks! im sorry but they can be a huge bunch of B******s sometimes. (im sure there are plenty of nice ones somewhere, it just seems that i never see them). I was driving a minivan full of kids for a school trip and the van has a speed limiter on it so i cant do more than 59mph, so naturally im sitting in the slow lane on the motorway. I slowly catch up a truck and figure that i cant overtake, but then the b***** starts slowing down more and more, i look in my mirrors and theres now a truck tailgating me and another truck blocking me from changing lanes and dropping back! So my options were A) stay there, which i wasnt comfortable with or B) try and overtake the truck in front, i chose B and the truck just speeded up forcing to drop back inbetween them again! I ended up waiting for an exit and leaving the motorway! I just couldnt believe people would do that, especially to a clearly marked school van!
