And yet another hero of the Space Age goes. Very sad. Sent from my Orange San Francisco using Tapatalk
What can be said about him, truly a legend in our lifetimes but never courted attention or took advantage of his position, a truly humble man who did a fantastically dangerous and difficult job. He will be missed and mourned by millions the world over. Myself included
Forever to walk amongst the stars. A very sad loss to the world, He was one of the very few famous people who didn't let it get to his head. He always played it down, and was the very essence of gentlemanship. The dawn grows colder... Enterobsidian
One of the bravest men in modern history. I can't imagine the balls it took for that first step outside.
It's impossible not to be sad at the death of a hero, even more so if you're a follower and enthusiast of space exploration. Neil was not an American hero, he was a hero of mankind, one of the greatest we'll ever know. This is a sad day for mankind RIP, forever among the stars.
I is sad. very, very sad. A true hero has passed - he and the other moonwalkers transcended nationalism - - they where heroes for all mankind. RIP Neil - you will be missed.
Saddest news I've heard for a while - truly depressing, as is the fact we haven't set foot on the moon for 40 years...
Really hope they pull the stops out and give him a state funeral to end all others. He deserves it, as does any other hero of the Apollo adventure.
This has upset me incredibly. Neil Armstrong's name will be known for as long as there are humans to know it.
If we ever make it amongst the stars, let it be known that he, and men like him, had the courage to take the first step. Humanity owes them the ultimate debt.
This has really runied my day. May he rest in peace, knowing that he was able to represent humanity at our best and provide inspiration for countless generations to come.
