Modding neon string?

    hey

    i am a new comer to modding. and i thought i wud start small. so neon string appealed to me.

    i was thinking maybe to my keyboard or mosue mat.
    but.... i have noticed they have a inverter on them.

    how far away is the string that glows , from the inverter? because if its only 10cm , it will be viewable on my desk, which wud be ugly.

    also, can you cut neon string?

    and if the inverter is a short distance from the glowing part , can you extend it?

    help wud be nice!

    as far as i know-- you can cut EL string not sure about neon string.. but EL string is a lot more versatile, also it glows right from the inverter hookup, but that is extremely small....

    right ok , so i could hide the inverter in the keyboard say?

    so if i bought a length say 5 meters, and i only needed 4.75 meters, i cud just cut of the 0.25 with a knife?

    You can extend the distance between the inverter and the string using ordinary wire - I've done it :)
