i've tried devede and manDVD and both screw up the audio into scratchy sounds on my dvd players/ps2/xbox etc... is this a codec problem or a lack of support for a codec in the actual programs?
I'm personally not sure either way but is there an alternative program for ubuntu 7.0.4 that will take any audio/video formats that i throw at it and convert them into dvd?
hope I've made myself clear enough this time sorry if not:$

I hear that the problem with audio on DeVeDe is due to a slightly b0rked version of Mplayer & MenCoder.
If you read this thread on the Ubuntu forum, you'll see a link to a "fixed" version of Mplayer near the bottom of page 4.

As an alternative option, I've had good results with Tovid for simple discs.
I'm currently experimenting with QDVDAuthor for a more complicated multi-menu project.

With Tovid, don't try to burn the finished disc. Instead, create an ISO image, and burn that with K3B. :thumb:

cheers IanW yeah I saw the fix for it and I will try that later.but now I'm going to check out Tovid. I tried QDVDAuthor once and it annoyed the hell outta me.will give it another shot.
as for iso's yeah I prefer that incase I require more than one copy then I don't need to clone my dvd projects burnt discs over and over(Y)
    cheers mate
