As you can see I'm new on here and this is my first ever project. For some time I've needed something to play movies stored on my Freenas box through my TV. Due to the location it would need to be no bigger than a standard DVD player. After finding other peoples projects on here very interested I remembered I had this

A motherboard from a damaged Samsung NB30 Netbook. So I thought I would have a go at a project myself and make a custom aluminium case for it. No CNC or specialist cutting tools here, below are some of the tools and materials I'll be using for the project

Started cutting the aluminium base, sides and front to the correct size

Thats all for now, thanks for looking, more updates to come

I think this will turn out to be a fairly basic project as its my first attempt and on a strict budge using mostly bit and pieces I already have, but hopefully It wont turn out to bad and serve its purpose well.

So far I've already had or been able to borrow the tools I've needed, here's a few more that have proved very useful

Holes drilled and tapped and stand off's fitted, ready for the motherboard and hard drive. Also cut out the front panel for the power switch

Trial fitted the motherboard and hard drive

And cut out one of the side panels for the USB and screen connection
