I have my laptop constantly next to me while I am working, and I think it would be amazingly cool to just move my mouse off my desktop and onto my laptop and let it send mouse/keyboard information through the network.

I don't care about copying and pasting stuff from one PC to the next, but it would be nice so I don't have to keep moving to the crampy keyboard and touchpad mouse.

Anyone know of software like this?

Preferrably free, but I'd be willing to purchase if it was good enough.

Edit:It looks like I'm going for something similar to ShareKMC, but that appears to only work for tablet PCs.

    wo0t!

Looks like this is going to work great!

I'm typing this now using my desktop's keyboard. Neeless to say, this is freakin awsome!

I'll have to check out mouse lag before I game like this, but it seems hella responsive! I seriously can't tell that I'm typing over the network. Now if only there were security features to encrypt my keystrokes I'd feel much more comfortable. But oh well, all I do on my laptop at work is chat and post on forums anyway!

(they are both sharing a wired switch, so I would assume that helps.)

    Yes...Yes it does!

Windows is a great OS when you use Open Source software for everything. (blindingly fast, since my web browser is no longer connected to my calculator, which is in turn not connected to my graphics editor... etc. etc.)
