Hi all, I'm having an issue with our network here. My guys here are losing their connection to the server. I'm running Server 2000 and the rest of my guys are running XP. I have a total of 16 people on my network. I've checked the Network card, cables and ran a virus/spywear scan. I haven't found anything that is causing this. I have a linksys Router and hubs if that helps you guys out.

When you say "losing" do you mean it works sometimes and othertimes it doesn't?

Can computers ping other computers (not the server). If so, then we can rule out a hardware failure outside of the server.

    Has the server worked before?

They lose their connection, for example, with Quickbooks they will be logged off in the middle of using it because the Quickbooks fille is on the server. We can still ping when that happens. Yes, the server has worked in the past.

Whats the model of the linksys router. In my experience linksys routers are absolutly rubbish because of their tendancy to cut off when overloaded because of heat problems. This may be the problem. Have you tried another router?
