I am wanting to connect a printer so that it can be accessed via several laptops on a wireless network. Currently all our printers are connected to a machine and then shared on the network. I know there must be a device, similar to a router that connects and shares a printer over a network - but what do I need?

I don't have the printer yet, looking specifically for the 'sharing' device, then I'll purchase a suitable printer. Anyone know what I'm looking for? And any recommendations - UK retailers?

    Many thanks...

You are looking for a 'print server' it can be either a little router like box or a dongle type adaptor with ethernet in and USB/Parallel out. You buy a seperate printer and print server with which to conect it to the network :thumb:

Some Hewlett Packard toner printers can have a network adapter builtin to them as well as some other toner printers, you can also go the print server route.

Thanks Casey, though I'm looking more at InkJet printers. I've since purchased a Linksys Printer server, which will allow me to share the printer via the wireless network. Thanks for the input guys!
