Reading the Twitter feeds of the other involved parties it seems that it actually is him. Oh well you reap what you sow.

I completely disagree with what these hackers have done / are doing - but I can't help but be amazed at what 17/18 year olds are capable of doing! Someone needs to put a leash on them, and then employ them!

Couldn't have been hard to catch them, they were probably the only people using the internet in those areas.

I read a very interesting synposis of the whole thing. It would make a good book or movie. Anyways lulzsec were using various SQL injection techniques that are well known but hard to patch against. So It seems like they were taking a brute force / low hanging fruit approach. They just kept on trying the sem sploits on various servers until they got in.

while they were effective, they weren't breaking new ground or discovering new vulnerabilities.

As long as they're prosecuted in this country and not shipped off to foreign parts, that's the main thing.

(No offence intended to people from foreign parts, obviously...) :)

Be interesting to see if this leads to anything, can see this ending with a deal trading a softer punishment in exchange for ratting out other members.

I have a strong suspicion theres related arrests happening in the US, they're just smart enough not to tell anyone.

A threat of extradition to the US will proably make them give up every other member or a country that will give them a long jail term.

Yet their members do turn against each other easily enough and name them.
