Guys, Does anyone know when this is going to air? I saw an advert for it on TV last night, and it looks pretty damn good - Looks as if it's going to be in depth docu-drama looking at the whole story - With Vaun Braun and the Americans on one side and Korolev, Chelomei, and Glushko on the other (Russian side). From what I saw on the clip, A guy mentions (I assumed it was Korolev) that they needed a launcher as big as the Saturn 5 - so I guess they're going to cover the ill fated N1... All I can get from the BBC website is that it's one of their autumn highlights for BBC2. Anybody work for Auntie (or know someone who does) that could clue us in?
Week commencing 10/9: http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/proginfo/tvwk37.shtml Looks pretty good, IMHO.
It'll probably appear on your favourite torrent site or newsgroup any minute now. My best guess would be newsgroup "alt.binaries.multimedia" Or we could wait for the DVD, perhaps around xmas? <pedant> Newsreel footage shows that when he surrendered to the Americans, von Braun had a broken arm. </pedant>
I'm loving all of the BBC's modern history programs atm- especially ones like World's Most Photographed and the Space Race. Nice to see some decent dramas/documentries coming round <A88>
