Hi all, I'm trying to build a new pc and having problems. I have Ryzen 5 7600x Asus X670E-Plus mobo G-skill ddr5-6000 16gb x 2 Samsung 980 pro 1tb Be quite dark rock pro 4 cooler Be quite pure base 500 fx case Corsair rm850x I have installed all the parts. I'm not sure if I have put the pled+ pled - and power sw connecter in the correct place as the motherboard lights are coming on but when I power up, nothing. Can anyone help as I'm ata lose with what to do? 20221203_065807 by Coopermon posted 3 Dec 2022 at 07:03
@Coopermon I don't see mention of a graphics card, I presume there's one there. Ok, taking as read that you have all the connectors everywhere hooked up correctly those little buggers can be a bit annoying. Just because they write on one side doesn't mean that's necessarily the correct orientation (I know, makes no sense). At the bottom of each connector on the reverse side to the writing there will be a small triangle raised on the plastic. That is the side that carries the + and it's that you need to marry up to the + on the board connector. I can't remember now if it's just one or two connectors that then end up looking backwards with the writing then facing the opposite way to the others when all plugged in.
Hi Sorry. At the moment I am using a amd r290 until new gpu. The pleds are 1 pin separate connectors and have no triangle on either. The power sw is 2 pin and does have a triangle. I don't see any + - for it to connect to. The is the manual diagram. 16700581046542840555206873686003 by Coopermon posted 3 Dec 2022 at 09:02
Sorry, I see now, yeah the pleds look fine (although they won't stop it starting, they just power the case power lights). The power switch also looks fine, looks like a two pin covering a three slot with the last slot empty so you can only physically put it in one way by the looks of it. I'd be checking all the cables from the PSU to the motherboard and components are hooked up and seated correctly now and the RAM is properly inserted. I take it there are no error codes on the motherboard when you power up?
I'm getting really worried now. I've stripped the pc back down and re installed everything again. Apart from the gpu. I thought I'd eliminate that as the problem. 2 x atx for cpu 2 x fan headers for cpu 1 x 3 pin gen 2 header for case rgb 1 x atx for motherboard USB 3 and 2 from case HD audio header 1 x fan from case And the pled and power sw headers There is also a sata connector from the case to psu, I don't need to connect that to the motherboard too do I? No warning lights are coming on. Just the tuf rgb on the motherboard. Have I missed something?
You are plugging the hdmi/DP cable into the GPU, and not the mobo ports rights? That CPU doesn't have an onboard GPU, so the mobo ports won't output anything. (We've all done it, well I certainly have!).
Got another GPU to test? Have you re-socketed the cpu and checked the socket for bent pins? No old/dodgy USB peripherals plugged in the rear IO? ATX 12v and pcie cables firmly socketed in psu?
Haven't got a spare gpu. It is working in my old pc. Have tried with all usbs in and tried with all out. All cables have now been triple checked. At this point I'm so disheartened I don't think I can bring myself to strip it all again and check the cpu seating This is my second build. The last one was 14 years ago and have been dreaming of this pc for years. So gutted. Will seek local technician in my area. With tail tucking firmly between legs.
Before you throw money at someone, have you reset the BIOS? Maybe a BIOS update - i think most mid to high end modern boards support headless flashing now.
Do you have the EPS power cables connected to the top left of the motherboard? (Green arrow) Sounds from the description like that's the problem; where it seems to have booted up but nothing then happens. Also what are the error LEDs (purple circle) showing? Try using just one stick of ram in different slots.
