OK - having sought some advice for individual components here is my new build. I am planning on driving to scan to get the kit tomorrow so any advice/comments gratefully recived. I always have a slightly irrational fear i may have bought incompatible components (e.g. ram wrong pin no etc). I already have: 680gtx, 750 watt psu. Case: Corbide 500r http://www.scan.co.uk/products/corsair-carbide-series-500r-black-mid-tower-gaming-case-w-o-psu Mobo: Asus P8Z77-V PRO http://www.scan.co.uk/products/asus...-6gb-s-d-sub-(vga)-displayport-dvi-i-hdmi-atx CPU: i5 3750k http://www.scan.co.uk/products/inte...-s-dmi-650mhz-gpu-6mb-smart-cache-34x-ratio-7 Cooler: Be Quiet Dark Rock Advanced http://www.scan.co.uk/products/be-q...5-1155-1156-1366-2011-am2-am2plus-am3-754-940 (But need to check it fits case / would prefer slightly cheaper if poss) Ram: undecided. was going to go for G-Skill 8GBXL Ripjaws X but scan dont have it - any suggestions (will be OC'ing cpu a bit)? SSD: Crucial M4 SSD 128gb http://www.scan.co.uk/products/128g...c-flash-read-500mb-s-write-175mb-s-35000-iops HD: Seagate 2TB SATA III http://www.scan.co.uk/products/2tb-...4-sata-3-6gb-s-7200rpm-64mb-cache-8ms-oem-ncq Also need windows 7 and thermal paste. Cheers!
For the RAM: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/8gb-...pc3-12800-(1600)-non-ecc-cas-9-9-9-24-xmp-15v And the Dark Rock Advanced will fit, as this guy has it in his computer: http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=228631
Thanks - I've added said ram to my list! Out of interest, i put thermal paste down but realised most coolers will come with some. Is the stuff they provide generally fine? I was also pondering this cooler as slightly cheaper and ok reviews: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/geli...-1156-1155-and-amd-754-939-940-am2-am2plus-am
Yeah the Tranquillo is a good cooler, but this is a lot better and only £4 more: http://www.scan.co.uk/products/arct...th-120mm-silent-fan-for-intel-socket-lga-2011
