I've assembled a new computer; CPU - Intel Core i7 950 3.06G s1366 PSU - 850W CORSAIR CMPSU-850HXUK HDD - 1TB SAMSUNG HD103SJ SATA F3 GFX - 1GB ASUS HD5870/2DIS/1GD5 RAM - Corsair Dominator 6GB 3x2 CMP6GX3M3A1600C8 DHX CASE - Silverstone Fortress FT02R-W Motherboard - ASUS P6X58D-E MoBo Cooling - Thermaltake Frio CL-P0564 During start up I get a blank screen. All the fans power up, CPU, Case and GFX. The DIMM light comes on so that tells me that there's something wrong with the RAM? I've tried different configurations of the RAM and also made sure that the graphics card is installed properly. Any suggestions? I'm hoping for a moment
Check ram is in correct slots and make sure the cables are all in tight, there's 2 4 pins next to CPU socket that both need filling or it won't boot as I've noticed in the past, also the frio is such a big cooler you may have difficulties with the fitting of those wires in most standard high end cases
Hello Kaiwan, Welcome to the Forums; I had a quick look around the internet and it looks like a few people are experiencing the same problems. Have a look at this link http://www.overclock.net/intel-motherboards/793696-first-build-p6x58d-e-wont-push-3.html Seems that it may be a MOBO issue. Could involve an RMA? Just my two penneth. edit* Try a CMOS clear also
Thanks for the responses guys. It was most definitely a facepalm moment. After reinstalling all of the components it was the 8 pin ATX connector that I forgot which was hiding under my frio. Currently installing windows...
