    Thanks bagman,

Agree with you on i5 750. can always spend the money on GPU.

Would not worry about the cooler as its only couple of pounds cheaper. I just need it to be very quiet and would not mind paying more.

As i said before i need a mobo which is easy to overclock as i know nothing about overclocking but would like to try it. i was reading about Asus and MSI boards with facilities where simply couple of clicks and the system is overclocked.

sata6 will only be useful if you an SSD. Most mechanical HDD'swon't be limited by it. You should check out bit-tech's article on USB3 performance.

Best place to start is the bit-tech front page in hardware for motherboard reviews.

If you're going to use it for watching movies, you might want to consider a Blu-Ray drive as well. You didn't say whether you were canniballizing the optical drive(s) from your current PC, so you ought to consider the cost of a new one, or the BRD on top of your budget.

Yes i will using a dual layer dvd writer from my old build as i have two.
I also have a Sythe Ninja HS which i might use instead of buying a new HS. I am still not entirely sure about the Mobo.

    build 1
    Processor: i5 750 OEM
Cooler: Titan Fenrir (Sythe Ninja from previous build??)
    MB: Gigabytes GA-P55A-UD4 or GA-P55A-UD2
    PSU: coolermaster
    Memory: Corsair 4gb 1600MHz (CMD4GX3M2A1600C8)
    Case: Fractal Design R2
    GPU: Sapphire HD5770

    Total: £740

The main purpose of the build would be to play games and watch movies/browse.

Gigabyte are a very good company, I reckon either board is fine. You should also have a peek at MSI. Donno if they do USB3 or 6Gbps sata but their boards have been getting good write ups for LGA1156 and AM3.

What are you not sure about between the boards?

yeah i dont think the ud4p has been released in europe, not sure why.

as for buying one, i dont think so as ud3r will suit my needs better as it is atx size and i have no plans for crossfire (ud3/3r have 2nd pci 16 at only x4)
