Hey all, As per the fun fun thread here http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=264777 my GTX 260 has gone bang (I think) So.. looking for a replacement card - Don't want to spend more than £200 on one, nVidia preferably. The card that went bang wasn't really a limiting factor to any of the games I played so anything else will be a huge step up for sure. One thing is that I'd like it to be quiet if that's possible. Edit :: Has to work in this motherboard http://www.intel.com/Products/Workstation/Motherboards/S5000XVN/S5000XVN-specifications.htm
7950. 3gb vram massive memory bandwidth. http://www.scan.co.uk/products/3gb-...pu-830mhz-1792-cores-dl-dvi-i-hdmi-2x-mini-dp It'll piddle on a 760 at higher resolutions and it's cheaper.
Lancer - will that do 3 screens (desktop, not gaming)? It'll be supporting either 2 or 3 Dell 24" screens. (gaming on one)
Mantle? Is the 760 a bit overkill for what I need - would there be something that would be ok at the ~100 price point too?
and how would something like this http://www.amazon.co.uk/GeForce-DirectCU-Graphics-Express-Surround/dp/B009KZ4DK4 compare against the other one above?
Yep, it'll output up to 4 and downlock to 2D speeds too. The 660 Ti will be a bit slower I think. The 760 is a clockbumped 670 IIRC. Speaking of, Scan have this MSI GTX 670 on their today only page for £167.99 but it has the stock, blower type heatsink so I'm not sure how quiet it'll be.
Hope to have just picked up a 660 from the for sale forum! Let's hope it works Don't really mind it being a bit slower, as i'm sure it'll be a huge step up from the 280.. thanks for all the help!
