    12" Powerbook Superdrive :D

avec le 768mb of memory goodness (still have the 256 module that came with it *yay*)

But the worst bit is... I don't have it yet... (daddy bought it for me in the US... so I have to wait until the end of the week to feel superior..)

So yeh... the dark side got me... but it was so damn sexy!

Anyhoo the main thing is are there any decent slipcases for them .. cause I kinda have an aversion to getting the poor thing scratched or dented... (Have looked at the Crumpler School Hymn 12"... and I do like it... but not sure how robust it'll be...)

Thanks all... (any advice for me would also be very appreciated)

Oh bugger. Lorquis found the Apple forum. There goes the neighborhood... :p

Only joking - nice to see the King of Spam joining the Dark Side! :thumb:

IIRC, the school hymn has an in built hard plastic shell - it's not just a neoprene sleeve, so it will offer more protection if you're worried about your new baby. Also, they're not that much bigger than the Power Book, so you can still put it in a funky record bag. ;)

Heheh, I was glancing in here from it's conception in giggly joy knowing what was going to be purchased hehe...

I might end up buying both slips for different situations... although I am leaning towards the Hymn.. mainly due to the shell inside... which will make me feel a lot safer about flinging my bag onto tables etc...

And I am quite partial to a nice record bag... altho.. recently I've been more of a H&M bag whore.. and old army gas mask bags...

Any accessories I should buy for my preciousssssssss (I'm thinking first and formost.. BT Keyboard and Mouse... (and probably a spare BT mouse to chuck in my bag for ease of mousing...))

Did Lorquis type 'brought' instead of 'bought' perchance?

    It's something I've noticed Nottinghamians doing a lot. :/

I've been using a second skin now for ages and it is great for protecting your powerbook from scratches as K said. It is also semi waterproof so if you get caught in the rain and you bag gets a bit damp your powerbook should be fine. Almost a year old now and not a single scratch on it.

Grrr.. I have ISSUES with this thing... but anyhoo...

Can I use any normal figure 8 cable for the powersupply or do i have to use their oh so pretty one... I ask cause the one I have.. is american...

(and on the bottom... it does say 110~240vac so I'm assuming I can at least use the same brick... but.. can I use a normal figure8 cable..)

Yep! Just stick the figure 8 into the white brick and you're set.

    Works here.

Errr, you press it...and the LEDs light up. It shows you how much battery power is remaining.

Heheheheheh I LOVE this little bundle of greatness...

*SO* very easy to use... just like... *power*... *turn on*... *gaze at screen*... *fill in forms*... done... oooh you've found updates... *install*

and it's all done like KAPOW... I love it...

no idea why I ever need two enter keys though hehe
(also.. is there a thing like pressing F5 to refresh a la safari.. cause it just bleeps and alters the volume..)

Now... I just need some software for this thing to polute it's HDD (also what kinda programs require classic (OS9) *MacOS n00bie sowwies*)

And last thing... is there anyway so that I can tap the touchpad and it recognise it as a click...
