Webbyman: I said I'd get OCZ Platinum 2-3-2 instead of the Corsair And I'd get a Gigabyte of XFX 7800GTX insted of a POV Sorry, I was in a bit of a sh1t3 mood with london and all
ah no worries, you have every right to want pissed.. i thought you were just considering the others also.. if your overclocking it's best to go for an xfx or gainward since they get the cream of the crop chips from nvidia and don't worrie about the other stuff
If you're not buying until september, it might be worth waiting to see how much the X2 chips are going for then. The should drop straight into the same system with no other changes.
Tolsk: Oh, right I didn't realise they were 2-2-2. I'll look for some in the UK then Phuzz: Having seen the X2s benchmarks I wouldn't say it'd be worth it for me as I don't multi-task enough, and thats the only real area the X2's are any better. If ATI get their Cross-Fire gear out by then I may also consider that.
The Gold is winbond/utt based so might need to volts to do well. The 2,3,2,x platinum is probably BH/CH based looking at those timings. If you can get EL rev 2 (3200) from OCZ, its TCCD/TCC5 and should clock very nicely with low voltage. 38A on 12v should be plenty too
all depends on if hes going to oc. if your not charles get the gold if you are go with something like the ocz el rev 2.
Why? I can get the other for the same price and it's from the same shop as I'm going to anyway. I don't want to order from more than 2 places if i can. Give me a decent case for your argument and i'll look into the Tagan, also silent/quiet isn't the reason I want it. I know Tagan are good
If he's not overclocking then some cheap 3200 will do fine wont notice the diference in timings and will save a few quid
Well if I don't overclock (for a couple of years yet) would this RAM be any good? 2x1024mb of various brands value RAM Links: http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=66405 http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=55296 http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=65719
Out of the three, they're all fine, but i'd go for the Crucial myself. Btw, you might get that cheaper on crucials webby. Http://www.crucial.com/uk
Cool, so would value RAM still be as good or nearly as good as "performance" RAM at gaming, photoshop & 3d proggies ?
