http://www.crucial.com/uk/support/ssd/index.aspx?source=web have tweeted support to see if it improves GC on non trim machines
After a quick skim, am I right in thinking that this update is not destructive then? Was a previous update or am I getting confused with OCZ?
It's non-destructive but sensible to take a disk image 'just in case'. I like the way that the Crucial tool does the update, nice and simple.
Massive non detection problems for me again like in previous firmware versions. Back to 0000f for me and all running fine again now.
forgot to add :- updated last night , non destructive as before , and is working well so far. Still waiting for an answer on GC for non TRIM systems.
Before the upgrade my 512GB M4 wasn't detected when I first powered on. I had to turn the PC off and on again before it would work. New firmware has fixed the issue. Awesome!
Worked fine for me. Clicked the updater, system rebooted, updater started in dos or whatever it is, found drive, updated drive, restarted.
My Crucial M4 128 GB disapeared from windows every 30 -80 minutes. I installed win 7 to my samsung f1 1tb hard drive and the same thing happened. Updated my MB bios and drivers .. still the same. I have a MSI P67-GD53 B3 with EUFI bios. the lastest firmware for the M4 is not recommended for MBs with EUFI bios.. but it was try or format the M4 .. and it worked stable for 20+ hours so far. I had the 009 bios on the M4. I had tried leaving the M4 on for 8+ hours as some forums has suggested - that made no difference. When the M4 stoped responding I had to switch off the mains.. wait 20 seconds then back on and it would work for a while. If I left the pc it would reboot but the bios would not see the M4. Took me several days and a lot of Googling. Hope this help others.
