Those of you that use Facebook will know that they've brough in a new main page/wall arrangement, and I for one hate it. Im quite private about what I do and who I'm talking to on Facebook, previously I've always deleted the wall posts about who I've who Im friends with, when I'm tagged in photos etc. Now, every wall post I make comes up in the main feed, and I can't remove it from that feed/my freinds feed until others stuff has happened and it pushed it off the main page... This move has seriously made me change my mind about using facebook, I've been on it for over 2 years, and this is the first really bad move they've made in me eyes... Grr.
Love the way ebay and faebook change the layout for no gain but to make it awkward to use for the next few weeks for all users.
why don't you join a group that tells everybody you hate the new layout and you can discuss it with other like minded individuals and maybe make an online petition to get old facebook back cos change is baaaaaad mmkay?
I like the idea, but it feels weird. Too much wasted space on the left. And they really should make it possible to shuffle the feeds/objects around, I doubt it's that difficult. iGoogle does it, why can't facebook? I want the pokes on the top!
Mankz.: If you don't like that stuff then why the HELL are you using facebook? It's called social networking for a reason.
http://www.facebook.com/help/contact.php?show_form=delete_account There you go. You'll be happier for it.
i thought it looked a bit too "busy" at first but i'm already getting used to it. my only real gripe is that you can't hide certain things people have posted. it's either all or nothing. and even then, it doesn't bother me that much. actually, i think i'm more fussed about rounded corners on profile picture thumbnails tbh. always thought that looks tacky. still, if you hate it that much, stop using it.
I like some of the concepts that they've tried to work in, but hate the implementation. To be honest I think to previous layout was the best - the 'live feed' worked the same as the new facebook does and the 'home' page showed the the things that were gathering the most attention and comments (thus the main page showed what I would be most interested in). In the new version I feel like comments and posts just get lost in the mess Oh, and facebook REALLY needs learn the word 'accessibility' and then begin to apply it to its designs...
Don't like it? Stop using it, simple Seriously, all those stupid groups about petitions and what-not.. all those people continue using facebook while they "wait for the petition to be heard and changes made" think facebook really cares? They're still getting the same traffic, same usage, etc, so why should it matter to them if it's not impacting their business model? Lol.
Not that I have used twitter, but it seems to me that they are trying to fight back a bit, with too much emphasis put apon the "what are you doing now" feed, which in my opinion has always been the least intresting part of facebook.
