Phwoar.... a much needed update. I'm loving the new look. Haven't gone right into depth (yeah, a lot of NSFW stuff in my feed and I'm at work), but I haven't found anything I hate yet.

Only pro advantage I can see now is the mass upload feature.

Feels more like Tumblr crossed with 500px come Myspace now :) which isn't a bad thing seeing as though they just bought tumblr for 1.1BILLION (little pinky in the mouth)

Looks like they want to do away with pro, they'd rather you bought ad-free for $50.

    me likey. :D

1TB is a LOT of photos, I hope they continue the "old ones disappear" trick when I hit 1TB, that's the main reason I like about flickr, it's just a stream of my most recent photos, no need to manage and go back to delete.

At full resolution that wouldn't be too hard, like the new design though.

Based on the slider on the site at 16mp (my max res) I think it was still over 200k photos, that sounds like quite a lot to me :p

Sorry, my brain was working on 1GB, not 1TB! Serves me right for trying to post and work simultaneously.

I like to plan ahead :p

But you are right, it's quite hard filling 1TB with jpg, especially considering I upload them at web resolution of 2048x1366.

Hmm. Based on the pricing models it's clear that they are pushing for people to just live with free accounts. It seems that ad views generate more revenue than paid subscriptions.

I've had a pro account for quite a while now, and almost everyone I know has one as well. Have there always been ads on Flickr and I just never noticed before, or are the ads new?

The layout is nice, and it's certainly a welcome refresh. On the other hand, I quite liked Flickr's relative simplicity, and if the ads get too intrusive I may start looking at other photo hosting options.

I have a pro account and can't see a need to continue it. I don't understand what they are doing. Also, it's super buggy. I tried to reply to a comment on one of my images and couldn't. The letter "k" seemed to confound it. Big ups Yahoo.

edit- seems to be chrome related. It works in firefox.

Only thing I'd miss is the novelty of stats. I don't get many vies but its quite interesting to see what photos get viewed in a day.

Stats are still available. Go to "you" and then "recent activity". The stats are on the right side of the screen.

My Pro account ran out in January and I have been mulling it over whether to sign up for it again. I guess that solves that.

It has been buggy all morning long. I'm assuming it has to do with the new layout and initial traffic.

Blimey Yahoo seem to have done something right for once... shame it's taken them 5 years to revamp flickr!

the one thing thats bugging me currently is that, at least in chrome anyway, if I'm viewing a single picture from my or anyone's photostream its like a mini lightbox with all the tags and data about the picture listed below it. so on my widescreen laptop I have lots of black on the sides and keep having to scroll down lots to view data. yet they still have lightbox, so If I want to look at pictures only I can, why drop the rest of the data down on the standard view?
also has anyone seen a view of flickr with the ads yet? I'd rather see how it looks before i decide to keep or discard the pro subscription.
