I think the casual forum members find it harder than the full-time members.

Personally most of the threads i post in are well known.

    Might try the Greasemonkeh.

Is this "greasemonkey script" open for all to use, if so where can one find it?

A few thoughts, after having used the new layout for a while:

    1) I find myself browsing the photography forum a lot more - this is a good, if possibly expensive, thing (it inspired me to get a camera, and there's no way that it'll end there.)

    2) Not having a way to see what threads I've posted in is a bit annoying... If thread coloring could be opted to be new threads, threads I've posted in, or off, that would be handy.

All in all, I like the switch - it's nice to be able to see all the forums on a single screenful.

I assume from your second point that you want this because you don't like the new thread colouring and want to only see threads you've posted in and threads you haven't?

    *update*

I've just added the option so you can disable colouring of new threads and/or the colouring of threads you have posted in. Enjoy!

It is open for all to use, you'll need to check with Ramble which ones he is using though. They only work on Opera and Firefox

Signature size restriction - line counter anomamaly

Looks like you are now enforcing the signature size restriction. I got no problem with that. But something is off in the way it counts lines. Does it maybe count the lines of text in the edit block? Even if I take all but 3 lines out it still says I have more than 5 lines. Because of the links in my sig, in the edit block it is several lines. Note: the sig below as I post is before editing as I have not saved any of my recent edit attempts.

BTW: I wasn't sure about the new format until I used it a while. Now that I'm used to it I like it better than the old one. Easier to see where I've posted along with the new posts at one glance, among other things.

Okay, fair point. If there are problems with it though, please do let us know so that we can diagnose those problems and fix them! :thumb:

I have had some problems with search when looking for 6-month old threads from before When It All Changed. Have they been included in the new forum?

This is only 3 lines (1 wraps on my screen, making it 4). If I try to add one more it says I have too many.

And I realize line breaks would count. If I take my existing sig and remove the two line breaks, it still doesn't allow. I had the last /SIZE tag on a separate line, moved it up and still...

That's a strange one, I have no idea how vb calculates the number of lines in that case.

i get this problem too, i think that the problem is the length of the text (bb code included) reaching over the char limit, and it displaying the wrong error message.

The char limit including BBCode is 1000, the char limit excluding BBCode is 500. Dacusts sig is within these limits.
