farcry is cheap now, and worth every penny. if you have a hald decent graphics card you need this game. nothing out at the moment looks as good as farcry

I can second that. I'd say farcry is definately the best graphical experience out at the moment.

right lets have a bit about games first. when you click on the exe for your choosen game the program starts up(the game)eg ut2k4.before i've even seen the Nvidia logo(or any logos, menus, intro's,etc) ,a map(containing no objects) has been started using the game's engine(in this game the unreal engine) this is at the res/detail levels you set the last time you played.this is so that the game only has to switch the monitor's res once, rather than between every level and menu. RS doesn't, it just sets you into the menu at 800 x 600. thus everytime you load a new level it has to switch from 800 by 600 to 1280 by 1024.this switch is indicated by a clicking noise coming from the monitor(only it seems on expensive monitors.yes mine did cost a lot).this would be ok if it was only 1 or 2 times a day but RS switches about 10 to 12 times during loading.
    links about the issue
    here
    another one
here's the main one to read

also ubi-soft aren't doing anything to fix this.
