Hi cards sorry its another new gfx card thread.

Had my old system running for 3 years nearly now my 9800GX2 died few months back and running an old 8600gt which is cool but nothing special.

With Crisis 2 and Battlefield 3 out this year im gonna need abit more power to run them at a decent enough spec (1680 x 1050 Highest settings if poss)

But with just about 150 quid budget only looking at upgrading my gfx card looking at a 1gig GTX 460, but i'm worried that the spec on my PC my create a bottleneck because ram/cpu etc aint up to it if you get my meaning.

    Im running:

MSI P7N SLI Platinum nForce 750i SLI Socket 775
    Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 (2.40GHz) G0 Stepping L2 8MB
Arctic Cooling AC-FRZ-7P Freezer 7 Pro
    4 x 1GB DDR2 800MHz/PC2-6400 Memory
    150 gig 10000 rpm raptor
    900w hiper psu
    8600GT 512mb

Ideas on GFX cards please guys?

GTX 460 should be fine for anything you're using it for, cpu and ram all seem ok!

If you're looking for a better gfx from that go upto a GTX 560Ti for £200

Also, try and get your Q6600 overclocked a little.

Overclocking was the reason for the purchase i had it running at 3.00GHZ from new but had stability issues but that was down to my GFX card but not bothered overclocking since but seen as a new GFX is on the horizon i will playing around with it for sure.

Hoping to pick up a 460 1gig for about 130ish less would be nice, £200 quid is more than i wanna spend but thanks for the heads up.

Need to sort something out FPS on consoles suck! need to get back to ma roots!

you will definitely want to overclock your CPU. the mid 3.0ghz range shouldnt be hard with that setup and will get your CPU back in the game.
