Alright, so its been a while since ive had any real problems with my computer so im a bit rusty. The story goes like this, I purchased some Gskill extreme pc4000 2gb set. I install it and run it at the 250 stock. Everything seems fine, cpuz and everest see it and display the right timings and speeds. So I decide to play some UT04 and a few minutes into my game i hear the audio jitter then loop as the game freezes. I manually restart my system and set it back to 200 and CSS is fine. What do you guys think i should do? More voltage or loosen timming? Im not sure...

Got it working :D It did not like me manually setting the timmings. I set it on auto and the timmings it found were correct. Then I slowley worked my way up to 250 and its happy now. Also working my way from 3htt to 4 after i set the fsb helped. w00t w00t 2 gigs

OK finaly solution, it turns out the socket for the ram was not secure. I went in after more troubles occured and the ram was like a loose tooth from 3rd grade! Now after moving the stick mem test goes for hours and I can own mah clan in CSS all night long. :D

Thats damned lucky. I've had the smell of fried/smoking ram through that.
    My own lazy fault though.

    Ok so pictures will help.

Bumped up the voltage from 1.4 to 1.425 10x multi 4xhtt and 250fsb. This im not sure will help because I was doing 2.5 with dividers on 1.4

    This look right?

Should be 3-4-4-8, but ive read others that say cpuz shows it like this too

Now for the complex timings and what-not

I've got the same stuff as you, though mine's only running at 240 or something (could well be that the ram was at fault, I was happy enough with 2.4ish ghz). You said you're at 2.6v, correct? Try upping it to 2.7v and see what happens. According to Newegg, it's rated 2.6v-2.8v. Some boards will over or undervolt a bit, so I'd check that out.

Run memtest86 too, it's possibly not your memory at fault.

    Also, one word: "edit"

Alright Just got back from CSS and everything seems in order. I think the extra vcore helped.

Firehead, the reviews ive seen have the ram going up to 275 on 2.6 they said more voltage does not help it any. I have memtest pro and im about to get that running. When it was working smooth before I had it going for about 5 hours. And wth is an edit? That like german or something?

well, that would explain it anyways...
edit meaning that button next to quote, rather than triple-posting.

I know where the edit is :p
If it bothers you from now on when I come close to double or triple posting ill think what would Firehead do?

And the ram went memtesting while i slept so 4 hours roughly. Im planning on pushing it further now, since other have gotten 275 :D
