Remember that advert that got released on the marketplace a few days ago (if you haven't go look). It sparked some criticism about how it's disrespectful to veterans of real wars. I don't personally see how it's disrespectful (i.e. every game that contains people shooting each other), I think it's a great advert, if someone finds this disrespectful, then they should find any mention of war that isn't actually real disrespectful. But enough of people's over sensitivity to things, here's the "sequel" advert http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=TEWIw-a0GJw
That's why I will never, ever play on xbox live. Not to mention the way you actually get into games, it just sucks.
I thought the matchmaking system was very good, sure as hell beats the way of doing it other games have, so much easier to find a game. On a lot of games, by the time the list has loaded up, when you find a decent one it'll usually already full or closed down. It really is amazing how retarded some of the people on Halo 2 are though, I really hope Halo 3 doesn't suffer the same fate, the mute function may come in very handy.
I don't mind the smacktalk and abuse on Halo 3. There's an AMAZING button called X which you can use to mute someone you don't like!
In the Halo 3 beta it was at an acceptable level, but 80% of the players in a Halo 2 game are smack talking whiny American's, and without such an easy access mute button (hell, even with the mute button it would be a pain in the ass to have to mute almost every player in the game every time you begin a match). Hopefully the higher price point of the 360 will mean we won't get so many whiny kids on there, but I can see the release of Halo 3 bringing a lot of high pitched voices to microphones.
I really, really hated that about Xbox Live. All the little 'tards that thought they were special because of playing 8 hours a day and were able to beat others, just because they're younger. I only really noticed that in Halo 2...CS:S players are more mature than most H2 Live players, as much as it pains me to say.
Compared to being called a ****** etc. MP games hosted on servers allow you to somewhat control who you play with at least. Keep in mind, I find CS:S players terrible too.
Any game that has a mic system, has the little 12 year olds with the high pitched voices being obnoxious. It's just inevitable. Pretty good ad by the way.
