Is it just me or do others find the new Nano butt ugly as well? I really liked the aluminum-version they had a while back, but the plastic egg is just... Ugly.

So far I've managed not to buy iPods and I'm about 110% confident I'm not gonna do so in the future either. The iExtra over the standard Finland-extra is just too much.

I have been bashing the nano up until the time I bought one for my wife. I would still choose it over any of the other iPods primarily because I don't have the $$ for the touch, and don't have the music collection to fill the 160GB. (and I love flash storage)

The only issue I forgot to mention is the new system's cover flow is based on Artist, not Album Artist, and not Album. :(

This means I have 3 Lord of the Rings Soundtrack Album covers that play the exact same thing (because the album has 3 different artists). It is only annoying, not a deal breaker.

I also haven't gotten TV-out to work... clicking on the "TV-Out: off" option does nothing, even though all the other options on that menu work. I am using an Apple universal dock with an S-Video cable, which is listed as a supported tv-out device for the new nano.

All in all, I'm finally sold on Nanos now that they have the same features as most of the other devices in their price bracket and they still look better. :)

Just so you know, the Iphone has now been successfully unlocked in the UK with free software making it available on most of the major networks. There's an article on Engadget about it but I can't find it now.

Personally, this Itouch is thinner, lighter and more streamlined product. I think its far better than the Iphone.

It really needs mail and 3rd party application support. The main menu looks so empty :(

I must say, when I first saw the new Nano I thought it was ugly. Then I went to the apple store and played with one in person and now I really like them.

I ague. Seen in real life, you actually realise that the near credit-card-sized format is quite practical. And the quality of the screen is very good.

I'm typing this on an iPod Touch in the Apple store in Birmingham.

    I'm in love.

Touchs may be lurvly, but with touch 16's costing more than classic 160's, the choice would be a clearcut one to me.
