Notebooks new laptop for my old folks

    hi guys n gals,
    can u help my mum and dad want a new laptop and have loads of argos vouchers so only wanna get it from there and dont want to spend any more than £300 so which one. i know there is not much choice but they only wanna surf the net and run basic applications so its mainly about usability and reliability

    Out of those... I suppose I would select Samsung as I feel their overall build is a bit better and has a better dual core cpu. MSI model would be 2nd choice. Even for their purpose, I would still rather have better than a single core celeron so that eliminates the Toshiba. The Compaq has an even worse single core sempron.
    I know you wanted to keep the price under 300, but for 30 more the next up MSI models are considerably better.

    i havent heard of the MSI moke before they are alright to use then im sometimes a bit dubious about using make i havent heard of

    thanks for your help guys im not sure which they will go for but at least i can advise them on whats good and not

    Don't just advise them. You need to be in the shop when they buy it otherwise they'll come out with the extened warranty, mcafee and tech support or they'll not realise they need to deselect those option when they buy online.
