    Practically every UK website ignores EU directive on collection of surfers' personal info

    An amazing 98 per cent of UK websites do not comply with new legislation on the use of cookies introduced today, according to a survey by software company WebAbacus.
    Under the Privacy and Electronic Communications directive the law regarding the use of cookies and similar tracking devices on websites has been changed.

    Cookies are used to provide visitor details to site administrators, often so that each surfer can be presented with the most relevant information.
