We've got a Mac Mini Zip-tied to the back of a wide-screen TV at work going into the VGA input of the TV.

The VGA input doesn't accept 1280x800, but does accept 1024x768 (and will happily distort it for you if you choose, making it fill the full wide screen)

There are 3 HDMI inputs free and a set of Component Inputs as well.

What is the best way to make full use of the screen's resolution with the new Mac Mini?

Can we tweak the VGA to provide 720p? Can we use a DVI to Component Adapter, a DVI to HDMI Adapter or simply fine-tune the refresh rate and VGA output to fill the screen?

I'll post back later with make and model of TV.

Ideal would be use the VGA input for wide-screen goodness. Next would be the DVI to HDMI adapter (since we have some in-town).

    Ideas?
