    Guys - Help!

I'm trying to get my new machine to boot. The specs are as follows:

    EPOX 8K3A+
    Athlon XP2000
    512Mb PC2700 (2x 256Mb sticks)
Nvidia TNT GFX (I'm still waiting on the replacement GF4)
    Intel 10/100 NIC
    Audigey Player
    20Gb Segate Barracuda (ATA66)

I've already found out that 256Mb of the new memory is duff, so I've only got 1 stick in at the mo.

Once all of the bits where installed, I tried to boot off the HDD (it's from my old machine)

This gave me lots of BSODs, usually the stop 000007a to f messages, depending on how the machine was feeling.

I thought that maybe a reinstall of XP may fix, but the install prog fails with either the BSODs already mentioned, or IRQ_NOT_LESS_EQUAL BSOD.

I've stripped the PC down to the min required for boot (1 stick mem, processor, and HDD and I get the same results.

Anybody got any ideas on what's causing it? Any suggestions on cures?

I'm relying on you guys to bring a little happiness into what has been a completley ****ty week for poor old GOO!

The only thing I can suggest is to swap out the graphics card and memory from another machine.

    Think I've cracked it!

Flashed the BIOS with the latest BIN from EPOX, and away we go!!!

And as the release notes from EPOX say that it helps with DRAM compatibility, I bunged the other stick of memory in there as well, and it's booted clean as a whistle!

    Huzzah!!!:D

I can't beleive the shoddiness of some manufacturers, I don't think they care about their customers anymore . . .
