Socket 775, support for 8gb 800MHz RAM, PCI-E 2 x16 slot, onboard sound and wifi, all in a mini ITX form factor I've been keeping an eye on this one for a while now, and finally found a UK retailer, the only US retailer I know of is Newegg (Thanks for the source Asulc), but I'm sure there will be cheaper alternatives around soon, Ebay also has it for £118, but we're not supposed to link... so I haven't Now this has to be the best mITX board out right now... so what do you lot reckon? I'm definitely getting it with my next wage packet
I could really get into this one but I'm in the middle of the Colonies. I'll bookmark it for a keeper. It's been so long since I built anything except mini-ITX I can't remember when the last mATX was! john +rep for this one
We've been testing it this last week. Now currently in draft, finishing off monday, posting later next week
Just for everyone that has been wondering about the availability in the states, it is in stock at newegg.com. (This is especially for you, John!)
Sexy, methinks thats what will run my server, need something cmall and low power with a PCI-e 4x or better slot... not as common as I would like
Also - we've been quoted as £108 inc, so £10 cheaper from Zotac directly - I'm just trying to find out where..
Yeah let us know when you find out as im about to purchase an itx board, was wanting a minix but cant get them as scan.co.uk are out of stock.
mmmm, i might have to get a job. one of these and one of those new 65W quad cores is looking very tempting.
that does look veeeery shiny indeed. am interested to see what it brings to the HTPC table, compared to intel's own g45 mITX board. coupled with an e7200 and 4GB RAM this would make a brilliant one-stop solution, if the video quality's up to par. bindi, any word on the HDMI implementation? does anything do proper PAVP yet, or is all HD audio still downsampled?
It's a wicked-looking motherboard. Obscene amount of features within, too. Even more-so than the J&W board reviewed way-back-when.. It'll be interesting to see how they compare. Kustom actually have them listed, with stock coming in the next few days supposedly. So you might want to pre-order if you'd like one from Graeme.
PAVP? The one thing I can't check is the samplerate of the audio as we don't have an amp to tell us what it's outputting The 9300 chipset is the same as we reviewed here: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/motherboards/2008/10/15/zotac-geforce-9300-mcp7a-motherboard/1 just the board is smaller.
Looking at the back panel, the audio appears to be stereo only. Is that correct? Does the HDMI have digital audio mixed in? Is it 5.1, 7.1 or stereo? Man I can't wait for the review. Where I'm sure those questions will be answered.
That board does look very tempting, most of it is spot on too . I'd rather have more internal sata connections rather than the E-sata TBH. Here's a pic of the outputs Fumduck...
Note to self: If you want to save money, stop crusing the Hardware forum on BT Why can't I have unlimited funds?!?!
Do Want! I like the specs on it Max Mem 8GB DDR2 800 hmmmmm... mini-itx, wifi and pci-e x16.... nice little board for HTPC, or small gaming rig
PAVP: protected audio video path. it's what lets the mobo put out undownsampled sound via HDMI. i don't pretend to understand it, but AFAIK it involves a strange voodoo concoction of software, driver and hardware implementation to work correctly.
